Overview

The Graduate Certificate in Gerontology is designed to provide students with a broad overview of issues in Gerontology. Students admitted to the program may be enrolled in another graduate program at the University of Massachusetts Boston or some other university or they may pursue the certificate as a stand-alone course of study. Before admission to the Certificate Program students are required to interview with the Graduate Program Director (617.287.7300 or gerontology@umb.edu).

Prospective students interested in applying for a Graduate Certificate in Gerontology must submit an application portfolio. Applicants must complete an application form obtained from the UMB Graduate Admissions Office. The following web site contains appropriate forms and other relevant information:

A list of additional application requirements may also be obtained from the Graduate Admissions Office. Upon receipt of a complete application portfolio, the Admissions Committee in the Gerontology Department will review the application and inform the applicant of its admissions decision in a timely manner.
